Is she faking it?

Speculation is rife that a YouTube clip showing a gyrating woman in her knickers playing the new Wii Fit hula hoop game has been faked on behalf of Nintendo.
The one minute clip, entitled ‘Why every guy should buy their girlfriend a Wii Fit’ was posted onto the site two weeks ago by an American marketer called Giovanny Gutierrez.
The footage is said to be of his 25-year-old girlfriend, and was apparently filmed in secret in response to another clip called “Wii Fit Hula Hoop makes you look stupid”.
The star of the show, who is also reported to work within adland, claims to have been unaware she was being filmed, insisted that’s just how she plays the game!
Nintendo has also denied the clip’s a plant aimed at promoting its aerobic exercise game, which launched globally in April.
Either way, it’s proved a cyber hit, being viewed more than two million times already. It has raised the age old question; is she faking it? To which, historically, the answer has been; do we care?

I think she is definitely exaggerating her movements, I’ve played this game before and you don’t need to move as much as that. Most people wear more than a pair of knickers to play the game too, she must know she is being filmed!

The story is that Giovanny Gutierrez (director of interactive marketing at Miami’s Tinsley Advertising) created it as a spec piece …
As Giovanny tells Joystick Division, it was just a spec idea. “The whole thing was just an idea I had for a spec viral video. I came up with the idea because that really is my girlfriend (not my sister like many have assumed), she loves Wii Fit and even more, looks hot doing it. It’s just crazy how it’s blown up.

Hello? Earth calling! A message here on behalf of the 99.9% of the world’s population who don’t own a Wii, aren’t interested in anything to do with games consoles (god almighty, isn’t there enough real world out there? - why this obsession with things that exist only as a string of bits’n'bytes inside a plastic box?) , and frankly couldn’t care less what Nintendo and/or their employees or subcontractors get up to in their spare time.
I’ve just looked at this video, and it’s not interesting or even mildly titillating - so yep, who cares? And PLEASE, can someone explain to me what’s wrong with just going out and buying a real £2.99 hula hoop?

With 10.57 Million consoles sold worldwide, any marketing person should consider it a worthy segment. Moreover the WiiFit bridges the important gap between the couch and the playground - a gap which all too mant kids seem unable to cross, to the detriment of the general health of society. And..if the sensible discussions fail to convince you then follow Playboy’s example: http://videoarticles.playboy.com/?fr_story=ec49c46aa27df3061f2978a400845021b089030a&rf=bm
