Is Kate Moss losing her sparkle?

Kate MossThis week Kate Moss launched her fifth collection for high street retailer Topshop, but unlike previous opening days the hoards of eager shoppers were noticeably absent.

When the supermodel unveiled her first collection consumers couldn’t get enough. It was so sought after in fact that shoppers at the Oxford Street flagship store were given a time limit and told they could buy a maximum of five pieces.

This time, despite having a 10ft ‘countdown to launch day’ window display with Kate’s sultry smile beaming down at passersby and the doors opening 6.30am in anticipation of a stampede, the reception was as bubbly as a glass of flat champagne.

There’s nothing wrong with the collection, it’s actually very on trend, so it could be put down to difficult trading times and the uncertain economic climate, but maybe the problem is closer to home.

Kate has been luckier than most models to have a career spanning over two decades, but everything in fashion has a sell by date.

Her modelling career doesn’t appear to be dwindling, with new campaigns for Yves Saint Laurent, Donna Karan and Longchamp out this season, but maybe it’s the fact she seems to be jumping on the bandwagon with all the other celebrities trying to flog us their ‘brand’ that is starting to grate.

Along with her line for Topshop she also launched a fragrance last year and if she continues to follow suit a book, album, movie or presenting job are probably just around the corner.

Look out Kate, if you stick your fingers in too many pies you might get fat and then where would you be?

She’s definitely lost her sparkle. Also, maybe people have cottoned on to the fact that she has taken ‘inspiration’ from other desginers that she wears - that translates as ‘copied them in cheap material and prints to bring ‘fashion’ to the masses.’
What a crock. I can hardly picture Kate Moss drawing up designs, she doesn’t even have time for her own daughter as she’s too busy partying with the rich and famous and dating ‘rock’ stars. Kate - you’re not a designer, you’re a glorified coat hanger.
