Durden joins the circus

So Jonathan Durden is in the Big Brother house. I wonder what has persuaded him to think that it’s a good idea to join the Channel 4 freak-fest that has never shown a concession to age (no disrespect Jonathan)?
Most clever and intelligent contestants of mature years have bailed out early from the show as the true horror of the situation has sunk in – including Germaine Greer from the Celebrity version, Scots maverick Sandy from several years back and, of course, Lesley from this series. Maybe Durden thinks that it’s good research for future youth projects at Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy but let’s hope he doesn’t create the impression that the ad industry is a bunch of posing, preening, overpaid and shallow ninnies.
This is what usually happens when ad execs are allowed on TV, going all the way back to the TV doc on St Luke’s many moons ago. However, I guess the industry is likely to rally round to support Durden’s bid for glory and vote tactically to keep him in.
